Any Other Vegans on Prince Edward Island?

Wow, I haven't updated in a month. Sorry about that. I've been extremely busy, what with moving across the continent, having my car break down, and dealing with all of the things that come with purchasing a new house.

Anyway, I've just moved to Prince Edward Island. Are there any other vegans on this island? If you know anyone, have them contact me. :)

I have a feeling my wife and I may hold the prize for being the only two on the island.

I'm so jealous! I've always wanted to live there after reading the Anne of Green Gables books. :)

There are tons of vegetarians and vegans in Canada. Try finding a health food store - that could be one good way to find some.

Cheers!

Billy! Congrats to you and your partner! PEI is a fantastic place to live, and for the lack of vegan friendly places (at least on the surface) there is a world there that will never stop blowing your mind. Enjoy!

Hello!... you are not alone out there!

I am from PEI, living on PEI, and also a vegan. Give me a ring sometime. I was thinking about putting on a vegan nutrition workshop for the general public. Is that something you might be into?

Have your tired: Formosa Tea House
186 Prince Street yet? It is the sister restaurant of Zen Garden in Moncton and is supposed to be amazing my husband raves about it I have only been to Zen Garden but they are very similar from what my husband says.

Yes, I have tried the Formosa Tea House. I really wasn't impressed. It was pretty bland to me and seemed like meals I could make at home.

I hate to give a vegetarian restaurant anything but a glowing review but I wasn't in love with the place. That may just be because I'm originally from Washington, DC and lived in Seattle as well (two extremely vegan-friendly areas).

Here's the Formosa Tea House's menu. Take a look.

yeah that menu doesn't look as good as the Zen Garden one, however if you ever end up in Moncton Zen Garden is pretty good and just down the street from that is Calactus which is vegetarian and vegan friendly.

i have never tried Fromosa first hand my husband just had and for him until recently any veg restaurant was exciting. That is the problem with the Maritimes just not very veg friendly. Halifax has decent options but otherwise there just isn't too much.

also so how did you end up in PEI?

I just created a website to act as the vegan guide to Prince Edward Island. Here it is: Veg PEI
