Sacramento: Recommendations Wanted

Where should I eat in Sacramento?

I'll be traveling to the area (near Rancho Cordova) at the end of this month for work. It'll be a quick in-and-out trip, but in case I have time for lunch I'd like to know where to go. I've never been.

I'm sure some of my readers live in or have been to Sacramento.

What vegetarian or vegan restaurant would you recommend I visit? What's the best restaurant there?

Thanks!

I've never been to Sacremento (if you were coming to LA, I'd have you over for dinner -- I'd make Indian!) but I will say that HappyCow has never led me astray when traveling...

Rats (about Sacramento), but I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever in LA. Thanks.

I visited Sacramento for about a week and ate at two great restaurants. Latitudes http://www.latitudesrestaurant.com/ which is actually in Auburn. It's a little expensive, but very good. And Sunflower http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&q=sunflower&near=Sacramento,+CA&fb=1&view=text&latlng=38643423,-121268632,10340799588552182198 in Fair Oaks, which was much cheaper. Both are quite delicious.

Never been to Sacramento, so I'll answer your questions from my blog post instead ;o).

I've never seen Lost, although soooo many people tell me it's good. Maybe I should watch it next, as I just finished West Wing.

I'm originally from.. Earth? Haha I've lived all over, so I can't say I'm "from" anywhere. But I DID spend about 6 years total in the Philadelphia area :o).

I'm not vegan so you would have to ask that they don't use dairy; I'm sure they'd accomodate.
1. Tapa the World - best veggie plate in town.
2. Kasbah - next door to Tapas and both owned by Paul - hummus, baba ganoush, BEST felafel I've ever had (again, ask about vegan... dk)
3. Andy Nguyen’s
4. Hamburger Mary's (now called Hamburger Pattie's) - can get any burger done w/ a boca or garden burger, chili is veg.
5. Sunflower Natural Restaruant in Fair oaks - excellent nut burgers
6. Tower Cafe - earth burger is amazing. get it with avocado and the teriaki glaze. sounds weird but it's great!
7. Celestin’s - veggie gumbo, creole.. ALL VEGETARIAN DISHES ARE VEGAN. Really tasty and ambiance is great
8. P.F. Chang's
9. Bodhi Vegetarian House in Rancho Cordova
10. Udupi Cafe in Rancho Cordova - excellent indian food

I live near most of these restaurants and would love to dine w/ you if I'm around when you are.
